Yellow Clinical Waste Bins

Blue Lidded Bin

For non-hazardous medicines, out of date stock, ward or patient returns - NOT cytostatic or cytotoxic.

Available in sizes; 30L, 50L and 60L.

Red Lidded Bin

For anatomical waste including recognisable body tissues, blood samples, placenta, limbs etc.

Purple Lidded Bin

Non-sharps cytotoxic / cytostatic waste, including IV giving sets and left over preparations.

Available in sizes; 30L, 50L and 60L.

For out of date stock, ward or patient returns (not cytotoxic or cytostatic). Not to be used for the disposal of controlled drugs unless they have been denatured first.

REMEMBER...

Do not use for the disposal of free liquids.
Do not use for the disposal of sharps or rigid items likely to puncture the bag.
Clinical waste bags should be filled no more than two thirds full OR to a maximum weight of 8kg, whichever is reached first.
Clinical waste disposal bags should be sealed at the point of production using the swan-neck method.
